Yes, yes it is. Although soccer was my sport. So I might have liked that better!

Boy we played bad today. 0-2 and sent home, first time all year not in the top 2. I used this thread and talked about how we needed to get back to playing scrappy softball. LOL. I didn't use Pete Rose in my speech though.

I mentioned to my husband your Pete Rose comment. (I only knew him as the gambling man.) But my husband said he was an amazing hitter & was super competitive! It’s a strange phenomenon when the game becomes a “job” & competitiveness gets lost. Good luck this week!

To me, scrappy has always meant a small kid that has a ton of fight in him/her. In 13u baseball (the first year you move up to the "bigger" field) our team had a SMALL 11yo catcher. The kid was a demon. He was fast, he blocked every dang thing, and fought HARD. That plate was HIS! That kid was "scrappy" IMO, to an extreme. I'll always remember that kid.

Thank you! I’m going to take it to mean she is competitive, a fighter & a hard worker. She is tiny. But I’ve seen how frustrated runners on third get. Nothing gets by this kid. Excited for summer ball to start!
