Hi, new to the forum. bought a glove from a vinci guy, otherwise lurking and trying to learn.

my 10u daughter on a regular travel team. usually hits fine. went up in bat weight and wondering if this would be considered dbsf? any input appreciated. when she mishits she is under it and pops to left side of infield. she turns/faces decently and tries to pull everything so i think it happens on the outside stuff.

couple screenshots from video i took show hand/bat path coming in from too low?

is this rubber banding something you guys would recommend my daughter watch? she doesn't have much of a stride, but this is the separation goal correct?

Separation is the goal but some (most?) people might disagree with having the rubber band in that vine attached to the front leg instead of back hip. Good no-stride hitters get separation.

I see a pretty good swing suffering from some bat drag. I have seen much worst dbsf. THere are some drills and products that will help. BR bat drag buster works well but I have found DD doesn't like to use it because I pinch her arm with plastic clip when putting it on her. We still use it. LOL Basically the hands have to stay in front of the torso, inside the rear shoulder. She is leaving them behind. When this is fixed she will have a shorter stronger swing with the ability to check her swing. My guess is that she swings at off speed pitches in the dirt unable to check her swing.

Also the 3 videos you show the swing progressively get better but the still photos tell the story. Fix it now and sell it to her as just a little change not a complete rebuild.

Not here.
Don't go on a 'snipe hunt' your DD doesn't have 'bat drag'. JMHO.
Your DD drops her whole body down, hands included down level to the ball. Then swings and raises her body up as she is swinging. This is causing your DD to swing 'under' the ball. 'Dropping body down/getting sat is OK as the body goes forward but, I don't want the hands dropping down to level with the ball also. Think hands above the ball. Also your DD has no sequence. I don't see any FBC. It seems it's all go.

Bonds body 'drops' and his hands go up.

thanks guys i really appreciate all the input. now that rdbass said it, i can really see how her hands are dropping with her body. i knew they didn't coil back, but didn't realize were dropping.

she hasn't had any lessons or instruction at all in regards to hitting, has gotten away with athleticism, but i know reality not for much longer.

i am not familiar with "FBC" term? search here won't run it, too short a word/search.

thanks!

Forward by coil. Instead of shifting backwards, loading, then shift forward while unloading (all back / all forward), FBC has the loading/ coiling happen as the weight is shifting fwd.

(Note: since this is the practical, not technical forum, I’m using load and coil basically as synonyms. No need to scare Toby off by trying to further clarify terms like “weight shift”. :) )
