Y’all got me on extension. Explain what the top hand should do at contact and after contact? Should it roll over and finish or remain Palm up and rotate with the shoulders?

It wasn't me.

I like the cue of throw top hand past the bottom, these swings are great example.

At same time, some hitters are much less pronounced with such an action, like Mike Trout

I think as long as you aren't chicken-winging and letting the hands work naturally you are probably pretty good without actively thinking about extension.

Both hands ulnar deviate into and through impact. The phase of ulnar deviation of the top hand is generally behind that of ulnar deviation of the bottom hand. The top hand/arm, which is serving more like a 'throw' (a side-arm throw), will 'roll' (i.e., rear forearm will pronate) towards the end of its ulnar deviation. That is the movement of 'educated hands'.

Why does it look like a push to extension from the top hand/arm? You see contact at the classic power v, and then it seems the top hand pushes to extension.

Because of all of this slo-mo "analyzation" makes things look different than they really are in real life or at full speed...as does looking at still picks, and then making instructional theories based off of that as I've seen done in the past that is even worse than the slo-mo stuff.

Extension itself isn't (shouldn't be) a teachable component of the swing (ie. "cause"), but rather an "effect" of proper mechanics much further upstream of it. IOWs, once the swing is "launched", the bat/barrel should be speeding to the ball, and what follows is based on those launch mechanics, and not trying to apply additional forces applications to the bat/barrel that will only slow it down if you do. Again, JMO....YMMV, and that's cool.
