You answered your own question: "is hitting the ball great with her 31/21"

I'd say for her height of 5'2", 31" is an ideal length. And -10 is a perfectly reasonable drop.

I didn't consider moving up to 32 until my DD was 5'4"+

FWIW

Her hitting instructor said that she should move up this season. But she has hit 3 awesome triples in the last three games with her little bat! Seems like maybe she is where she need to be. But, she is practicing with a bigger bat & hits well with that as well. Thanks for your input! It’s helpful to know when other people transitioned to a bigger bat.

My dd is 15 y/o 5'2" 115 lbs and has been swinging a 32" bat since 12 y/o without a problem. First -11 then -10 and now -9. I am considering buying a 33 -10 as well. Better plate coverage

That’s awesome! I feel like swinging the biggest bat they can gives them more plate coverage as well.

The Pure Swing site talks about measuring from the middle of your chest to your hand to find the correct bat length. It's been awhile since I looked at it but thought his description was very interesting. My DD is 11 and it didn't line up with younger kids if I remember correctly. He also talks about grip size.

Thanks! I’ll check it out.
