I'm not worried about her timing, at the moment. I know her well enough that she will sort things out in that regard by herself. Generally speaking, she starts her stride about the same time the pitcher releases the ball.

Also, there are things that I agree with about swing mechanics that may be missing from my DD's swing at this current time. There are definitely areas that can be improved, and it's a continual process. One of those areas is how she uses her core. She still hasn't connected the dots on how to get stretch happening through the core, and how to apply that to her swing. Getting started earlier doesn't solve the issues until she understands the correct movements that need to happen after the process starts.

Ok. Agree that early and slow is of no use if the correct movements are not incorporated.

She swings with bad intentions :)

She also knows enough about her swing and body that with your (light) guidance she'll do fine for a while just figuring out how to square up pitches (off tee, front-toss, machine, and live) and hit them hard will keep her making progress.

LOL. Yes, she does. :)

Light guidance is definitely important with her right now, and "hit it hard" is probably my most-used cue these days.

"SCAP" clamps down? Singular... again, that thinking is lacking imo. What does the front side scap do? Does it have any kind of supporting function?

I believe the HI perspective is that the lateral tilt is mainly about falling backwards over the rear hip. The 'connection/fusion' relative to the front shoulder is missed/overlooked/not-considered ... or at least I don't see it spoken of. They don't seem to see the lead-arm connected to the upper torso and understand how the lateral tilt 'inspires' the swing. They don't feel a 'fusion' in the lead shoulder that leads to a feel of connection to the upper torso. Their usage of the 'lateral tilt' is purely about the rear hip, and doesn't seem to focus on the important resulting action through the lead shoulder. It's a significant oversight IMO.

Oh now you want to talk about it? Now that you've parroted Rich you sock puppet. You keep believing all that 1 sided garbage you've swallowed hook line and sucker.
Does the front "SCAP" have a role in supporting the arms? Simple question. If your answer is no then you should close your account or just give the login to Rich.

Wow, why are your panties all in a bunch? You want to insist that you have to pay attention to the lead side. I don't. I went down that road. As I said before of course the front scap is involved since the bottom hand is holding the bat. Do you really need to focus on it? NO.

Get the rear scap correct and don't release it when you turn the barrel. You will be surprised at how you don't give a flying rats butt what the front scap is doing.

At least I am the true owner of my own panties.
Total body awareness is a focus. if you think the rear scap makes the front scap do something then please go drool in the corner.
Get the body awareness correct and you will be amazed at.... Oh wait... you've been down that road....and you will be surprised and what people don't give a rats butt about... or is that a ratsbuttermaker..... you need a cold shower or something to wake you up... not a problem if you are adding knowledge. Big problem if you go blind.
