A hit from last weekend (two views)...

A few things I don't love about this swing...
- Lack of "pull-backs" (pulling rearward with her back, keeping her head and torso over her rear hip). She was much better about this in some of her previously-posted swings, but is not consistent with that action right now.
- Knob-to-the-ball push/adjustment for outside pitch.
- Over-rotation of the shoulders at impact leading to the barrel pulling across the ball rather than driving through the ball.

Barrel starts from a position where it has to be dragged. Body is turning the barrel late.

How much of these are perhaps due to her adjusting to her posture change in her stance? Might some of them get themselves worked out naturally as she adjusts to her new stance?
For the record I didn't have an issue with her "crouching" stance. Like somebody else mentioned previously, it reminded me a lot of Molitor who seemed to do alright for himself

So Cal
She's trying to make a few adjustments on her own, and has been experimenting with some different things during our hitting sessions. My attempts to instruct her right now are met with irritation, so I'm just letting her sort herself out.

I also don't love how much the elevation of her head changes as she is reading the pitch.

That sounds very familiar..and mine is only 8...I am doomed.

Actually, getting them to the point of swing ownership and self tweaking is a huge accomplishment IMO. Providing video feedback rather than verbal commentary saves father-daughter relationships! Video tells no lies, has no ego, doesn’t get hurt feelings, and doesn’t argue.

At that age, the battle for me was getting her believe that I had an idea of what I was talking about, and me being able to communicate ideas in a way she could understand.
