Happy feet......

There it is! Probably is her timing mechanism - Bo Jackson could hit ok.. Sure some coach told her to quit moving around in the box/ get set/ quiet down - lost her timing mechanism. If she's raking when she does it - then thats all it is

I do not have video of her doing it. Steps forward with her back foot and then front foot- good swing. She pitches also and almost like walking into a pitch.

Similar but gains ground toward the pitcher.

Not here.

Not my style. My answer would be to teach your DD the proper & correct sequence now. The proper sequence may have your DD playing longer and with possible more success.
Or...
good swing.
DD can have success now and will probably struggle in the future as the pitching gets better. And it will.

As your DD 'gains' ground on the pitcher the ball is also 'gaining' ground(speed) on your DD. JMHO this will not work as your DD moves up in age.

I agree. It only shows up against the hard throwers it seems and she pulls the ball and has good at bats against them. Last weekend saw a few mid 50's in 12U. She hits the ball up the middle against the slower throwers. She does seem to get reset and have good hacks against the hard stuff. Worked today and never did it.

So Cal
Success now is good, but pitching is only going to get more challenging as she continues in the game. Eliminating issues that will make it harder to be successful down the road is a good idea.

If you think about it this is almost a mini slapping type approach and while she can make solid contact she won't be consistent with power in the long run.
The problem if it is as you described is once she steps forward with the back foot any load and coil she has is gone and now is simply reverting to an all back (when she plants her back foot) and all forward (when she plants her front foot).
While it might seem like a bad idea to rework a swing that is showing results a problem like this should not be overlooked, especially now when we are in prime "rework and make adjustments time" and not prime tournament time.
I would post a video of her doing this so we can be 100% sure and would never actually prescribe some fix without seeing it...since we are all just taking your word for it...not that you are not describing it right but timing is everything in the swing you described.

You can still do everything in sequence a swing requires (including coil) .. Simply tell her instead of gaining ground - do it in place, not a big deal at all. Without video this kind of a circle jerk, but just show her the gif of bo jackson.
