I would appreciate any thoughts on DD's swing. She takes hitting lessons once a week but we work together the other days both with tee work and front toss and I would like to have some ideas on how I can keep encouraging proper mechanics.

Looks like a pretty solid swing. One thing that stuck out to me was the timing of her stride. It looks like she may be striding late. Her hips are already starting to open up, and her hands are coming forward by the time her front foot is planted. Getting that sequence down should help.

So Cal
As MacLobo mentioned, her sequence is off, which is costing her a lot of power and quickness potential.

I prefer to see the hands continuing to get pulled up and back as the stride is going forward, and tension being developed in the back of the shoulder (scap). I also prefer to see a hitter pulling around their rear hip and upper thigh during the move forward, getting the rear (right) butt cheek turned slightly towards the pitcher. In her current swing, she's giving up the rear hip too early, and the hands are coming forward too soon, which creates a swing powered mostly with her shoulder turn and arms. She looks like a strong girl. I suspect there's a lot more in the tank.

Belts loops turning forward as hands/barrel coming forward.

Good visual on what should happen - belt loops turning forward as hands stay in place and turn barrel rearward

So if I am explaining it to her can I say "hips then hands"? I also told her that her hands and belt loops/belly button should be moving toward the pitcher together. She got on the tee and tried again - does this look any better on the sequence?

Thanks again. She is strong and works hard but she has trouble translating her power into games. I just want to be able to help her more if possible.

Hands should NOT move forward. Rear leg turns forward as lower back resists/pulls back.

Here is another good look. Watch how the belt loops turn forward as the "2" on his jersey stays in place (even looks as if the "2" moves toward the plate a little. This is his lower back resisting/pulling back as the rear leg turns forward.

Ok - now, how would you explain that to a 12 year old girl, lol? I'm obviously not getting a good grasp of how to explain it although I can see what you mean on the video. I will also show this to her as well and maybe that will help.

Another clip to consider. Check the wrinkles on his shirt on his lower back. He is pulling back against his rear leg as his rear leg is turning forward. There is no attempt to turn forward above his rear leg.
