Yes, scap loads the leg. Scap also removes the arms from the swing. The scap continuously loads the leg as the scap pressure works down the spine as the rear hip tilts. Nice post Bass.

The scap loads the leg? Are you sure it's not the other way around? Curious on your thoughts on this subject. I just started a thread on scap loading. Please chime in as I add more clips to the subject.

Shawn, this scap loading that I believe you are attempting to describe looks to be merely a 'result' of the upper torso (shoulders) resisting rotation as the lower-core (hips) twist/rotate forward. Do you see it differently? Do you teach actively using the scap muscles in a pinching manner ... or is it more allowing a pressure build-up of the scap in towards the spin such that energy transfer is 'through' the shoulders rather than 'from' the shoulders?

We see it the same way. That's why I said scap loading is a tricky thing. Trying to load the scap will more then likely result in to much tension. If you go over to the scap loading thread you will see where I said the arm/hands/bat are following the the hips. It's the inertia of the arms/bat (implement) causing good lag or a following of the hips. It's part of the changing of direction of the knob, arms/bat initial inertia. The girl has no "scap loading", there is just disconnection of the hands/bat from the body, or early unloading (poor bat lag being created). The arms/bat are not following the hips, because there is a major sequence problem. Therefor there is no scap loading taking place (or according to Rdbass there is no such thing as scap loading).
