Recently bought some TCB 82's and their hole balls.

When using the TCBs for front toss, do you just keep to a "soft toss"? I work with two rec teams - 2G and 5G - for the 2nd graders, I'm sticking with tee work and soft toss. But for the 5th graders (10/11YO) and more developed players, do you put more pace on the ball (also trying to work on timing, and would like to combine the drills)? I guess I'm wondering if it's possible to throw them too quickly, resulting in the same wrist issues that people have commented about after hitting deflated soccer balls / basketballs.

I use TCB 82s for pre-game warm-ups. I stand about 15-ish feet in front of them and try to simulate the approx. reaction time they will see in the game. For 12U TB girls, it's a pretty quick toss for me. Each player gets about 10-12 swings.

I did the same thing. I only had 6 of them, so each player would get 6, then they rotate through the other stations and come back for 6 more, so 12 total.

I think with TCB balls you have to make sure that the heaviness of the ball isn't effecting their swing. Probably be ok for 10U (maybe) and certainly 12U and up. When I had my 6 year old hit
them she would have a hard time finishing her swing..she just wasn't strong enough. I just use wiffles now and deal with having to shag them..

We have just used the heavy balls for tee work and soft toss. Not sure front toss is a good idea.

Back on the dirt...
I have used the 74's (I think that is the right one) for years with 8-12u so far. I do agree with mixing it up so they dont adjust the swing to hit them. I mix in some Mojo balls but the hole balls are a good mix as well. I usually throw from 15-20 feet as quickly as I can and still have them maintain good mechanics.
