She is starting late. Check out some of the sequence clips and compare then to your daughter.

Are you saying she started late on this one due to the hit to right field or is there something else you see? The reason I ask is she is sometimes way ahead and as a result she ends up way out front with no power or swing left so we have been working on her waiting a little longer so she's not too far out front.

Thanks!
Dave

JMHO. Your DD is out of sequence. Watch her hips. DD steps open whether because of being afraid of ball or from habit.

Just watch your DD's stripe on her pants going the opposite way that I like to see(FBC).
Then DD re-starts her sequence at which point I think she then has to rush through the sequence. Oh, yeah there's that level body & bat to the ball swing issue also that needs some attention.
so we have been working on her waiting a little longer so she's not too far out front.
Against faster pitching they will 'eat her up' with that swing thought.
Work on the correct swing sequence. Again JMHO because....................

Do you have a video that you can recommend that does a good job explaining this?

With faster pitching we don't have an issue with her waiting on it....it's the slower stuff that she can't seem to wait on and she gets out in front.

Thanks
Dave

She is trying to load or create a pattern and sequence while the ball is in flight. So the the the sequence is more then likely breaking down while trying to do everything at once.

Josh D called his knee lift as rythm and the stride as timing.

The swing has two parts, preparation which includes the load and stride to the launch position and then the swing. You don't have to rush the first part. Jim Dixon said good hitters take longer, or simply said they have a clear preparation phase.

She is trying to do to much during ball flight. If you put more focus on the two parts timing should improve with a little practice.

I also like what RDbass mentions.

In relation to the bold above, my DD does best when she gets started slow and early with her pre-launch process. The cue I use to remind her is "early flow".
