So Cal
She's not just dropping her hands, but her whole body, to adjust to the elevation of the pitch. The swing also appears to be largely powered by her arms.

Her setup is not actually too bad but she has to keep her hands above the ball, I would start with tee work and not let her drop force her to feel bat angle...then do front toss with a lot of low pitches.

This is what she should look like...again don't be afraid to show her pictures so she can understand the difference. Notice how Lauren is hitting a ball below the knee but her hands are waist high and she is still getting full extension on the front leg and there is no squatting stance. You can disregard the line it was to demonstrate something else.

Thanks....she does pretty good on soft toss and t- work but come game time, I think she gets so anxious to hit the ball she gets way out in front of it which of course throws off her timing. We've just started the low T work and High T work to get her to feel where her hands need to be and hopefully get that ingrained into muscle memory. Have to reming myself she's 11 and only been playing for three years now. (Patience Grasshopper)

Make sure to videotape her tee and soft toss swings.

Yes, be patient. Also, don't try to fix everything at once.

I find digital video recording to be much more effective. Videotape is a cumbersome process. ;) :p

Touche!! ;) I am so old that is how they actually recorded me when I was in college. First time I had actually seen
myself swing a bat....
