Eric, I knew that and should have included a statement about the additional length and weight.

Seen this thread, figured we'd give wood a try. Picked up a 33" -3 Rawlings, bat came in last night an she loved the feel. Hit 3 buckets off the tee. 1st time with a wood bat, i figured she have some trouble with the weight, but wasnt a issue, said it didnt feel that much different. Can't wait to take it to the cages, then to the field.

Please give us an update and what your dd thought about going back to her normal bat after working with the wood. We used wood last night in our cage work. The girls have really bought into it. We also used the CamBat last night. However, I didn't get a chance to work too much with them and that bat.

Sure will. Didn't get that chance to drop back to her regular bat last night, but we'll definitely be in the cage this weekend.

I love having my DD use a wood bat from time to time. Nothing gives feedback like a wooden bat. I think the composite bats mask poor swing and batting mechanics. Hit the ball wrong with wood you tend to watch the ball hit the barrel more intently so you don't experience the sting.

1st evening with the wood in the cage. DD said it felt heavier trying to hit a moving ball, only tee work up til now. Worked a bucket with wood, then back to the game bat, done this a few times. I can see the weight slowing her swing some. Not as explosive. Said her game bat felt much lighter, out front with it, but after she adjusted, nice quick swings. Let it get deep, then bust it!! Good stuff so far, just timing issues for her, definitely something we are gonna stick with.
