My DD had to make some major adjustments going from NJCAA to SEC. She was really used to getting the front corner with her 2 seam and it just does not get called in the SEC.

RB - wondering if she's tried/had any better success changing her starting position on the pitcher's plate? IME, starting closer to the edge on the side that blue is set up on sometimes makes a difference on how they perceive/call the outside front corner

Good point, I will mention it to her. What she did last season was throw the ball at the hitters front leg so the ball would break back to the plate and catch the back corner. One of reasons she had high HBP.

From our team's pitching stats (12U TB)...

BAA (Batting Average Against) .180
FPSH% (First Pitch Strike Hit %) .147

Being that FPSH% is included in the overall BAA, this tells me that the BAA is much higher after the first strike. Than again, my logic could be really flawed.

I’m not quite sure what FPSH% above is. Is it 1st pitch strike percentage or BA on 1st pitch?

The way I compute BA on 1st pitch is to only look at BIPs on the 1st pitch. That’s FPHits/(FPOuts+FPROFC+FPHits+ROEs).

Then I compute a non-1st pitch BA by subtracting FPHits from total hits, FPOuts from total outs, FPROFC from total ROFC, and FPROES from total ROES and doing the same calculation as above.
