Last practice of the season tonight.

Any suggestions for a fun hitting drill / game to use with them?

Thanks,

Gags

My last 2nd/3rd grade practice I:
1) Had them hit large marshmallows
2) Got out the sliding mat and taught them to slide.

Sliding was last week. It was...interesting. They loved it though - wanted to keep doing more rounds.

Started with getting them to slide under my outstretched arm. But worked best when I stood in front of the base and had them slide between my legs (after I assumed a soccer defenders "penalty kick" pose). Seemed to force them to "get down" more. But that skill definitely remains a work in progress for all of them!

If they can make a consistent contact a great game for younger players is a batting survival game. Each player had up to pitches to out the ball in play to stay "alive". If they swing and miss or foul the ball off they are out. If they put the ball in play they are still in. Last player standing wins.
