So Cal
I'm seeing her rear hip and hands coming forward together. I would prefer to see more load-into-the-unload and more torque happening in her core. IMO, that's the untapped power she still hasn't realized.

Yeah, That's what I was getting at with my comment about rotating into footplant. There is untapped power there IMO.

BTW, I do like her swing.

^^^^Agreed I did not mean to start a critique of her swing sorry if it has devolved into that...the only reason for posting the comparison pics was always be mindful as we are making improvements/changes in students swing that we don't get tunnel vision. As I stated her handpath really looks good but she needs to be mindful of keeping the lower body and core engaged. Not really a lets go out and change her swing again but a lets go back and make sure we are not losing something that we had before as we progress in other areas. She is a big strong girl and that is going to help and make things easy now but always have to be careful because soon pitchers will begin progressing and proper sequence and mechanics will really make a difference. All that said keep up the good work she is looking pretty good.

On a positive note, I seem to remember some DBSF at one point in time. It appears that is nothing but a distant memory. Congrats! Is that the beginnings of a 'running start' I see? Overall, if she syncs up the bottom and the top a little better, she will be scary.

Don't take this clip literally. This is the first time using this technique to create a side by side. I think the Pujols clip is missing a frame at contact. I will find another clip and redo it.

Although it is an interesting clip.

If my DD had a swing like this in 12U, I would have been tickled pink. With this strong foundation, Maddie's future looks very bright.

I agree about there always being room for improvement. In Maddie's case, it's largely related to how she uses her core. She hasn't quite connected those dots yet.

With regard to the pics you posted, I would like to see her hands a little higher - up closer to shoulder height.

One of the things we focused a lot on over the last couple of months was using her back. She was starting to get into a habit of pushing forward, which resulted in a forward tilt of her torso over her hips. "Stay back" was the cue I used to remind her to pull with her back over the rear hip.

Sounds like she had a productive season when she was able to play. Hopefully her 13 year old year will be injury-less. How much 1 on 1 hitting do you get to do with her now that she is getting older?
