Saw DD warming up before a scrimmage and she was doing the Walk up Drill, and then the Stretch and Fire Drill. I talked to her later and she said they do those every practice and also the reverse top hand drill. I thought that was pretty cool because we had been to so many college clinics in the past that had some pretty bad instruction going on. They spend a lot of time hitting off tees which is understandable, so at least they are getting in some good drills. She's sent me a couple videos off the tee to critique and after I've asked her what her coaches are telling her... She said actually, the exact same thing I'm telling her. That's great to hear we are on the same page, since apparently she still respects my opinion. Surprisingly, her game swing looks better than her tee swing...maybe she's overthinking things on the tee???

As regards the SNF drill, is there a consensus about how often and how many reps? Should it be done at the beginning of a hitting session? 1 bucket? Half a bucket? Every session? Or just once in a while?

I'd be interested to hear the "why" behind the SnF drill. For some reason I doubt they are using it to stress the things it was intended for. I have been seeing it more and more at the local hitting facilities but when I would ask the instructors what they were focusing on I was getting various responses.........I agree, overthinking on the tee is definitely a possibility! Good Luck

I'll get some time to talk to her next week about it and let you know. She has her first break from softball this week since day 1 of school for midterms. Back at it Sunday.
