Not here.
Stance is style but getting pigeon toed in the box and an open stance has its advantages mechanically as well!

How so.....

Not sure what the picture in your post is but I cant open it!

The advantage of having an open stance can have a few advantages, may not work for all.

I have worked with kids that step out and having an open stance works to get them in line. Now that being said you cant simply say step that way and it works. 99% of the time the cause of stepping the bucket is one of two things. Bat Drag or fear! Fix the bat drag and watch the stepping in the bucket go away.

A good 2 eyed view with an open stance is good also.

Some hitters may get a feeling of " I better start a lil slower and earlier " with the open stance also!

I have found the tinkering with the open stance to have these benefits with some!

When I swing the bat. I get a better feel of the coil wrapping around my rear leg. ( While pigeon toed ) I have used this to TRY to get kids to FEEL this also! Does it work? Heck I don't know!

JMHO. Hard to 'wrap' around in the rear leg when the rear foot is pigeon toed. Will help a hitter feel like their are driving off of the rear foot. Not the feeling I'm looking for in a hitter. Restricts the 'around' in the rear leg because of the pigeon toed rear foot.

The point that you just made is exactly why they can FEEL it! I do agree.

When you coil around the rear leg while pigeon toed it feels awfully funny and a huge pull right? I want them to feel that! Find the coil..Feel it!

Toe in is a great cheat. An open stance is toe in. And it does help get the feel of rear hip coil. it is the reason you see so many open stances in college, and i mean the one that step back inline with the pitcher from the open stance.

i at times when i want to really load up use toe in.

Stance is a great tool, and can really help certain mechanics.
