If someone tries to change your hitting style, what do you do?

Is your DD going to play college softball? If she is and she knows where she is going to play I would suggest getting with her college coaches and asking them how they want her to hit. Then start working now towards that goal. If she does not want to play in college or does not know where she is going you have to make the best decision you can and move forward with it. I am not a hitting guru, so I am not going to offer an opinion, but from a pitching perspective, I would go with the paid instructors advice vs. a TB coach.
She does want to play college ball but we are still looking. But we go to same hitting coach of a player for D1 school that DD is interested in so that covers that I think.

Why not arrange a conference with the TB coach and the hitting coach?

Smile and keep on doing what you're doing is good advice if what you're doing is good. Personally, I would rather know if a player is not going to try what I'm teaching. There are other players who may not know everything yet.

You're probably serious, but this made me laugh--a team coach having a conference with a hitting coach.
Well, I guess I'd laugh even harder if the suggestion was to arrange a conference between a team coach and a pitcher's pitching coach. I don't think a typical team coach gives a fart what a hitting or pitching coach of a player has to say, and I think that's a shame.
