go to ChampionshipProductions.com That site will allow you to look up about any training video on any subject. The mentioned video is SD-2967C 52 mins for 34.99 It is one of around 12 listed on bunting and slapping. This is an excellent source for any coach looking for the latest training DVD. I get this once a month thru ASA, since to be on the field at Nationals you have to be ASA certifield.

Yes and ASA back ground check. I have had so many back ground checks lately the FBI's going to get a red flag. High School , Insurance and concealed carry all in the last year! Have any issues I can give you Phone or Fax number Based out of Ames Ia. That was how I found John Tschida's Mega DVD series. I have a shelf of training DVD's

Got it and understand!
I have the same amount of background checks from the same organizations with one extra from the ATF for being an FFL. :)

As a lefty myself when playing baseball if I was bunting for a base hit it was always a last second poke down the third base line. Unless the pitch was really inside then I might drag it with me down the first base line. For sacrifice I am OK with squaring early but I don't want to bunt with first and third baseman in my lap either, you need to waiting long enough so you force them to make the throw on the move instead of grab the ball gather their feet wait a second and make a great throw.

This is how I prefer to teach bunting.....adjust with the pitch and front elbow up and even with the barrel

The pitch was high in the strike zone, if the pitch was somewhere else in the strike zone do you still advocate this footwork? What I see in the clip is back foot goes back and front foot is off the ground until a fraction of a second before the bat hits the ball. Not sure if this is optimum bunting technique for consistently getting the bunt down?

My DD was taught that for a RHB, move back foot forward to the line, shoulders aligned so they are square between 1st & 2nd base, with knees bent, bat in angled slightly lower at handle than barrel and starts out at the top of the strike zone so you only go down to get a bunt down never up. This technique gives you a solid foundation to consistently get the bunt down. For those advocating pivot, your lower body is not nearly as stable when pivoting the feet vs two feet solid on the ground.

The footwork is pitch dependent. Sometimes they just have to drop the rear foot back.....it's a running start to the bunt....I am not a big fan of just giving yourself up....you should always be trying to get on base...

A very successful TB coach in Chicagoland insists on the "square up" technique. The pivot technique is as effective, if not more effective, and it is easier to teach.
