doesn't it hurt when it wraps behind you. Please explaing what you look for when using it?

It hurts if you do not have good extension and finish low. A local college, actually has her team wear a catchers chest protector backwards when they first use it. You quickly adjust and then you're fine. DD just wears her helmet and has no problems. Our high school coach borrowed mine and we watched one of the juniors on his team that smacks his back with his bat. He wacked his back hard the first time, but after that, had no problems. The coach said it was probably the best swings he's ever taken.

The insider bat confuses me...I think it promotes the exact wrong things in the swing like driving the knob forward and delaying the 'snapping' action of the wrists. I can't believe that's the highest selling hitting aid of all time...Even Natasha Watley, the USA Softball girl who endorses it has her hands in a position at contact that is literally impossible with 'proper' use of the Insider Bat.

I believe it promotes tons of bat drag, disconnection, and weakly flared hits to the opposite field foul line.

Not a fan of the insider bat. The whip hit we use baseball pitching machine balls. My dd can hit softballs as we soft toss them and if you have a correct swing it doesn't hit you in the back. She and those I have trained do not use a helmet. Bouldersdad uses it as his number one training aid giving lessons and read about Valpo against Tenn. His dd was the player of the week so I would pay attention to his posts. She also got two HR's this weekend. We have made many of them. Now a true story on the whip hit. Don Slaught took when we first invented them to a Detroit Tiger MLB practice. A player being a smartt a!! stated looks like a toy , picked it up swung it and knocked himself out. So when you first start to use one , do use a helmet!!

We did not fill the bat with anything. Make sure you round the edge good so it won't cut the rope. Also set the rope length for the sweet part of the size bat your using.
