FFS, I viewed all of the drills. I know that some have been posted as FYIs. However, I think it would be good if you could edit them and place some value on these drills. For example, 5 is very good, 3 is noteworthy and viewer decide and finally, 1 being avoid at all cost.

I did get a kick out of seeing some of the drills. Lets everyone know what is out there.

Many drills can actually set a player backwards ..... even 'good drills', when not understood, can send a hitter in the wrong direction.

The attitude is not to be 'brainless'. To understand a drill's purpose and intent. To engage in 'active learning' ... which in itself can accelerate learning. The intent with the above posts is that well-meaning, good-natured, highly-experienced individuals do give information with intent to be helpful ... some of their information is 'good', and some of their information is 'bad' ... the point being to embrace the Hanson Principle regardless of the person giving the advice.

FFS - C'mon, you expect us to believe that this was the intent of your posts? Seriously, create your own "bad drills" thread, post and bash them all there, including Bustos and Carrier, rather than getting petty and peeing in this sticky drills thread and potentialy confusing people looking for valuable suggestions.

The thread already contained bad info.

There should be no confusion. I'm trying to be quite clear .... apply the Hanson Principle!

The problem with the Hanson Principle is, like beauty, it's in the eye of the beholder. Not everyone sees the same things in the same clips, which is why all the flame wars erupt.

It's also heavily subject to confirmation bias. In other words, I want things to be this way or that way, so when I look at a clip that's what I see. Especially if I'm trying to sell someone something, whether it's a DVD or that I'm the smartest guy in the room. The more granular you get, the more it's subject to confirmation bias.

That's why it's good to keep your mind open. Process the opinions (and that's all they are at the end of the day, interpretations and opinions) and see what makes sense to you. Then go back and use the Hanson Principle as a double-check, just to make sure you haven't gotten lost in the labyrinth.

John Tschida, is one of classiest guys you would ever meet... I coached baseball with him for a couple years before he started his softball career. I don't agree with everything he teaches but I can tell you he has played fastpitch at the highest level.. He has more passion for the game then anyone I know...

If the drills he promotes helped him as a hitter at the highest level who the hell are we to say what he teaches wont work... Is it all high level??? Probably not..... Is he helping hitters be successful ?? Hell yea.....
