What about this bat path is it his standard? I don't think he would have any problem with the bounce drill either.

Would it be safe to say John believes the ball still rises while coming through the strike zone and is trying to put the swing plane on the plane he believes the pitch is on?

It's a flippin drill... If you have been there done that You could see the value in hitting a rise ball.... Is Albert's barrel going down and up through it ?



I was of the opinion that Pujols enjoyed hitting balls high in the zone.

This here, IMO, does not resemble Pujols' bat path.

Yes, it is a "flippin drill" ... and not a good one at that. And that comes from someone who has been there and done that.

That is the implication from the video. As he traces the three balls high in the zone he speaks of the ball coming through the zone with that trajectory. A simple mistake. Nothing against the presenter.

John is taking a different path (not down and up through) when hitting a rise ball similar to Albert's ...
