DD Game Swing - Stand-Up Double

DD hits 3rd. HC uses her primarily as a bunter, but #1 and #2 hitters were already on 2nd and 3rd. She got the "swing away," and the following occured. She ended up having a HUGE day at the plate. Played 6 games and drove in 10 runs. Oh, and pardon the crazy camera action after contact. Forgot the tripod at the house.

Who's the guy in the yellow shirt? You have an official blue at the plate, then Average Joe in the field?

That was the other team saying to throw the ball into 3rd because the two baserunners had already scored. The guy in the yellow is the head umpire that runs all the tournaments at that facility. He had a full crew that day, but the guy that was on the field in the beginning of the game had an emergency, so he had to leave. The guy in the yellow covered until they got another umpire out there (and she was AWFUL, I might add).

Anyone notice how the bat recoiled downward at impact? Anyone notice how FREAKIN' TALL the 10 year old 1st basemen was? No joke, the CF was even taller than she was. Where do these girls come from?

You probably won't have to worry about that 1st baseman long. As soon as she figures out basketball gyms are air conditioned and heated.

I'll have to slow the frames down tomorrow, but a reg speed it looks like the hit was off the handle. Which means she burned the CF with power. But hey, a double is a double in the book, no matter if it's off the handle, sweet spot, or the cap.

Big girls? Yea, I'm telling you that's one thing I've seen in FP. Girls using a younger sisters birth certificate. Trust me folks it happens, not too much in local play because people know WHO they are. Crossing over a state or two, how you gonna prove it? I'm not saying its a fact on this video, but illegal kids give themselves away sometimes with mechanics and maturity not acting like the other 8 on the field.

This use to run ramped in baseball during my days. Teams would bring in a ringer P or maybe SS, C, or hitter. We had no Internet, and unless you were a Greek God most did not know you ( or brother ) until 14-15 out of a region. It's the dirty side of ball, and some still try to play it.

She hit it on the sweet spot. DD isn't strong enough to hit one 180-190 ft off the handle (she's 9). I know what you're talking about with the mechanics giving girls away. In this instance, the girl hit down in the lineup, and really looked uncomfortable in her own body. My guess is she hit some kind of crazy growth spurt, but I'm 5'10" and I was staring her right in the eyes.
