This has probably been on the board before so I apologize in advance. My DGD in games is jumping on any decent pitch and is way early. Coach says that is what a lot of younger kids do, and she will finally figure it out on her own. I would like to hear from you guys is there some drills I might try to helper figure it out faster?

Hope that coach isn't her math teacher!

To help prevent being "way early", have her hit off a tee that is positioned somewhere between the inside of her front foot to the midline of her body. IOW, place the tee deeper in the zone, instead of too far out towards the pitcher.

Another very good drill is to have her hit EVERYTHING to right field during front toss and live pitch. Make the right field hits valuable by having her do a burpee for EACH hit that doesn't go to right field out of, say, 25 pitches; even if the pitches are inside. (Kind of unfair about the inside pitches, but ... it's effective in the bigger scheme.)

Warning: Someone, at some point, is going to suggest a heavier bat to slow her swing down. That advice is absolutely WRONG!
