This is a video of my DD after 6 months of working hard on her swing...

as she is only 10 do you see anything she cold make better? Merely looking for
others perspective here...
Thanks in advance....:)

Not here.
I'm learning the proper sequence along with my DD,so just MHO.I see her weight getting to far back over her back leg, knee, foot.I also see bat drag(elbows getting ahead of bat) see video at 12 sec mark. I also see your DD bringing hands down to ball instead of tilting down.I don't like commenting on other posters DD,but I wish I had this help when my DD was 10 she now is 14 years old.So we have alot of catching up to do.Your DD is close in having a great swing.Good luck.

She is mostly trying to power the swing with the arms. Start the swing from the bottom.

Do a drill I call a "check swing" drill. Search it on this site. It is very similar to the Epstein torque drill I believe.

She should also practice some over swinging occasionally. She would be swinging harder than she thinks she can. She would still try to maintain correct mechanics, but the over swing would have priority. Practiced mostly from front toss and fast toss.

O2Crush ... please share some of the specifics that your daughter has been working hard on during the last 6 months to develop her swing. I ask, because the basic overall sequence isn't there. For someone in this particular condition, my message to them is that "sequence trumps all". That's were I'd start.

We started here....
Apologies as the video is long so please merely watch 2-3 swings and you will get the idea.
I did not have time to edit and shrink so uploaded it in the background. Oh and sorry for the sideways video...

She has been working to develop who she is at the plate. Confidence, Not stepping out away from the plate with the front foot if she steps at all, getting all the way around with the bat by doing things by maintaining balance and allowing her rear foot to lift to a point of toe down. We have been trying to get her to understand she must be stop casting so much and start engaging the lower body more than she was. Things like these. I think the video will show you the changes.

Sort of resembles a two-piece swing where the first movement is that of lowering the barrel in an attempt to level the barrel to the ball, and the second movement is a draggy type level-to-the-ground swing attempt. Just a thought ... but perhaps review some slow motion clips of some decent swings and get her mental image of the swing in shape. Make sure she understands the concept of a diagonal swing plane. Then start from scratch ... perhaps beginning with the sequence ... as it will be rough sledding if you don't get that ironed out initially.

This is going to kill FFS, but what he is trying to say about angle of attack can visually be seen in this youtube clip.

This angle of attack will be easier to achieve if you do two things: 1. Tilting at the waist, head leans in abit, butt goes out abit for balance, keep her back straight, soften/bend the knees (see video). 2. Start with balls on the tee at a lower height (just above the knee). Make sure the back shoulder keeps driving through the ball until her belly button is facing the pitcher at finish. Belly button pointed at the ball at impact, belly button facing the pitcher at finish (keep turning through the ball).

She looks good, good thing she got her moms athletic ability :)

The video looks pretty good except the point of contact is way too far out front. She has used her whole body before POC and is only left with the hands and wrists. If POC was deeper in the zone she would have much more power on the ball.

Of course, since it's a drill that may not have even been a part of it. Depends what the message is, I guess.
