Her hitting coach, which she can only get in with once in a blue moon, said if she had a better load, the other areas would start to fall into place. She does get the "show the pitcher your back pocket" but then doesn't do it in live batting.

Coiling is hard. The reason they don't trust their bodies and think they won't have enough time to swing. It's the same with getting seperation with the hands and trusting they you will have enough time to swing.I like the walk up tee drill.I have my DD exaggerate the coil and the hand seperation.First let your DD doing the drill with out saying anything.Make sure tee facing out onto the field.See how far the ball goes. Then have her exxagerate the coil and hand seperation then see how far the ball goes.If she keeps practice coiling it will creep into her game swing. She will trust her body.

IML ... your description is suggestive of someone that doesn't quite incorporate an ‘early & slow’ start as part of a rhythmical swing motion. If there is a holy grail to hitting … it is with the ‘early & slow’ initiation of the swing sequence.

Rdbass … diddo … an ‘early & slow’ start … to a swing sequence that contains ‘rhythm’ … will go a long way to developing a throw of the barrel that has an under-the-hood feel of the body being coiled, torqued, twisted. It doesn’t need to be overdone ... and in fact it shouldn't be. One is continuing to 'load' (i.e., coil) as they go forward.

FiveFrame... tried to pm you and your box is full also.. Rdbass, did the pm work? We do the walk up drill everyday btw, it's her favorite drill. I can't type much on my home computer (the words show up quite awhile after they type:)

IML ... sorry about that. I've been extremely busy and haven't had time to address PMs, so I let my PM-box overfill. In a few weeks, once the ASA season slows down, I'll clear out room and return to answering people's PMs.

Got PM send response.FFS I tell my DD to exaggerate the coil and hand seperation so I can see it better while pitching to her.I know she tones it down while in the game. The early and slow you think it would be easy to learn, but it's hard atleast for my DD.Biggest thing I learn on this site is "forward by coil".DD is starting to get it.She knows she needs to get everything into her swing to hit the ball out of the infield.100lbs jumping on the scale.

No problem...maybe I'll have a better video by then.

You're probably correct. I'll just focus on the load for now and keep it simple.
