Once DD was pitching, easy grounder back to pitcher. She turns to throw to 3B (runner on 2), nobody on the bag. So she quickly turns to throw to 1B since she can't get the lead runner. Nobody on 1B either. Potential double play turned to batter on base and everyone advances. Fun times! It was a bunt, 1 and 3 crashed, 2B and SS just stood there. Lol. I bet there a thousand of these stories. It's kind of fun to read them, like sharing the pain.

It's plays like this that make defensive stats kind of useless at lower levels. You make the right play but it's your error. Don't worry about it and come up firing if someone is stealing.

From a scorekeeping standpoint, every out recorded and every base advanced need to accounted for. In the OP's case, if the runner didn't advance one or more base on the throw, it is simply a SB; an E2 would be recorded if the runner did advance. As long as there is no further advancement, there was is never an E2 for an errant throw by a catcher on a SB attempt; however, an error is awarded to an infielder if they drop a throw that otherwise would have resulted in a caught stealing.

Thanks. I read too quickly and missed the "advanced to third"
