No so sure his clinic's are that great....I have seen girls leave from a Kobata clinic crying and not girls I knew of from my team so I am not defensive about it. He isn't that great at teaching what he wants, but mostly critiquing girls already existing form and doesn't do it positivly most of the time.

I got to see him in person this past week. IMO most of what he says is negative. I prefer to instill what you should do, not what you shouldn't.

Howard is great.

Advanced stuff - a player shouldn't be doing his stuff if they don't want to be the best in the first place.

Inspired by the Great Pat Riley, I typically would agree that "To the lazy, discipline will always be a nasty word!"

Howard is awesome. Girls will be so much faster afterwards.

Not to mention filled with self-doubt and acrimony! Hooray for negative coaching!

Not a Kobata fan. We spent three hours with him and about 1/3 of that time was spent listening to him insult our players' body types and lack of speed and agility.

"You too fat to be a good softball player! You run like Godzilla!". Thanks buddy, that one won't require years of therapy for my 12 year old.

As with most coaching, there is a perception of what you consider good, bad, or indifferent. Howard is Howard. I stand behind what I said. I think he's an awesome innovator and has in fact reinvented the wheel. That wheel was grandpa and dad screaming to gator chomp the ball and most coaches ever since has came from those poor mechanics etc...
I'm sorry if your experience with him was a negative one. Just remember the base of what was taught and not so much as to how the message was delivered.
