DD also got the 2013 CF5 32" 21 oz but hasn't used it other than hitting around the house. Dosen't like the feel as much as the Insane.

Are there certain types of batters that the Insane is better for versus the regular CF5? My DD has swung the regular CF5 with fairly good results, but about to buy a new bat and this thread got me thinking about consideration for the Insane version.

IMO it would be personal preference to the batter, but generally the Insane and other end loaded bats are for girls with better mechanics.

IMHO they need to have very good mechanics before swinging an endloaded bat. Their bat speed should also be in the upper ranges for their age group. If mechanics are lacking, especially if there are bat drag and hand dropping issues, then you will want to avoid the endloaded bat.

If possible, have the kid swing over a batspeed radar to see how much speed she looses.

The ball will most likely be hit harder and further off the insane then the regular CF5. The issue here is how often she'll successfully make hard contact with the ball in game situations. This is tough to measure doing soft toss or t-work in a demo house.

I purchased a used 2012 D Insane 34/24 on Ebay a week ago for DD. It was advertised as being used one month during HS SB. It appeared to be used very little and it crushes the ball. DD hit some shots that were close to 260-270 feet and some low line drives that cleared a 200 foot fence, this is with me pitching to her. She has no complaints about the bat, she loves the grip and advised it is very comfortable.

She is going to start a Fall College SB schedule and the 2012 Insaine is on the NCAA list as an approved bat while the 2013 is not on the list at this time. I paid $150 and guess what a few days after I bought this one a brand new one sold for $127 with a warranty on Ebay.

A word of warning there are many scams on the internet so be cautious on purchasing anything on the internet.

I bought the 2013 CF5 with the new stamp. DD used it with great success over the weekend and loved it.

The 2013 Easton had 2 inches less grip which is not cool for a slapper so she chose the CF5. Sweet spots were comparative on both. The sweet spot on the Xeno was about an inch shorter (she used xenos for the last 2 seasons)
