My DD has a 2012 Xeno 32/22 as her primary bat, but I would like to pick up a cold weather bat that she can use in sub 50 degree weather. Was thinking about trying to find a used Rockettech, but would prefer a -10 so the two bats will have a similar feel. Any suggestions?

I always thought (dont know for sure though) that the composite fibers in the bat are brittle when cold and break instead of flex.

Ah. The demarini site says that you are correct. The balls core becomes harder.

A lot of people like the Rip it Force. I happen to have a 2012 Force 32/22 used in only 3 fall tournaments:) My Daughter uses a longer bat now. Let me know if you want it cheap.

You will not find a bat that is warranted in temperatures under 60°F. However, my own DD used her RT in the colder weather. I won't let her use her composites in that temperature. I also find the RT does better in colder weather, where the composites have more pop when it warms up, it could just be my perception, though.

We used many bats in cold weather. the Anderson Rockettech, the Demarini Evo and the Rawlings Liquid Plasma. (All old bats by now and non-composites.) One older bat that is great in cold weather is an Easton 777, one of the first of the great bats.

By cold weather, I mean Flagstaff, AZ. elevation 7,000 feet. So, it was 40 degrees for a lot of games.

Just gave away my triple 7 last week. It was getting too small, so I handed it down to a 10U coach so it could keep racking up some hits. What a great, older bat if you can get your hands on one.

It is a great bat. DD had one in 30". I'd love to pick up a 31" for the cold. Everytime I remember to check the bay, they don't have one.
