My 10U DD wore a G-Form last year. Still in great shape. She can wear again this year and hopefully pass down to her younger sister.

Just behind home plate
My 16 y/o sister started wearing these after she took a line drive off of her chest in a tournament game in August. She absolutely loves hers. I'm wondering if something like this would be beneficial for a catcher to wear since we already wear a chest protector when we're behind the plate. But I could possibly wear one of these for when I play third.

DD has an Evoshield. She had another brand before which was itchy and she refused to wear it. She doesn't love the Evo but she'll wear it. If she weren't a pitcher I wouldn't care but because of that I prefer her to wear it. In addition to her face mask ;)

Because heart guards don't actually do what they say the do. If it brings you and your daughter peace of mind great, but that's all they are doing.

In my opinion they give a false sense of security.

That is why the unequal has me interested. Of course it is a paid study, but unequal went to the Tufts researchers that concluded no products on the market helped.

I'm always mystified when people want these things mandated when they've been proven time and time again to be completely ineffective.

I know the NOCSAE recently established guidelines for heart protectors. At the time there weren't any products that met them yet though.

When you say time and again, how many studies are you talking about? I've only seen the one by tufts, but I've certainly not done an exhaustive search.
