I don't have experience with those gloves. Was in a similar position as you, I did try out the nokona walnut catcher mitt but i thought an 11 inch ball was too small for that pocket, maybe it just needed a good break in. I did end up getting a Vinci fortus mitt. It's a nice glove but beware, it is a beast to break in. The Vinci does have good palm padding and from what I see with nokona those have minimal palm padding.

I do hear good things about the all Star mitts.

how hard are the pitchers she is catching. for a 9 YO, presuming 11 inch ball, as long as pitchers are not throwing extreme heat for their age, mizuno prospect is easy to close, to me this is a big factor. that was my DDs first Mitt, got two years, then she needed more padding (although for like $15 you can get inner glove as well to provide more padding). I would avoid big bucks at this age, as the mitts that hold up better to the faster pitching are beasts to break in, might take months. if money not an issue, givne time of year, maybe do something like the prospect and a better mitt (make certain it will accomodate 12, prospect really cannot handle one ) and begin breaking in process.

The Mizuno's Prospect and Franchise are great sub-$100 gloves up until 14U when you can invest in the 'forever' catgcher's mitt is she is still catching. I am really fond of the Franchise. They are good quality gloves and have plenty of padding/protection for the younger age groups.

Most of the pitcher do not throw very hard at this point. She likes to use her regular glove easier for her to close it and more control. . She is 8 now 9 in may . i do not mind spending the extra for Nokona but looks like the Allstar might be a good value to try first. she has a Easton prowess doesn't car for it.

Vinci Fortus 32.5" is a really good choice. Best padding (even though you don't think they throw hard you can't be too safe), and best sound when they do catch a fastball just right.

Will be tough to break in but a great glove for $100ish.

If she likes red I have one for sale that's broken in a freshly relaced.

I might know a guy that has one that is already decently broke in also ;)

if there not throwing very hard yet, and for her age and smaller hands, something easy to close right from the get go might be the way to go, and then pretty soon buy a high quality mitt to start breaking in (catching for pitching lessons is great way to break in, no consequences to drops/failure to squeeze
