So I bought my DD a new ASA Ghost from Core. It is actually the same length and drop as the LXT that she has been using for a while (30/19). As measured by my trusty ball coach pocket radar her top exit velocity has increased 3 mph over the LXT. The big difference is probably in the average exit velocity. Her average is probably sitting around her old maximum. I will be the first to admit this could possibly be the mental aspect of a new bat but it certainly seems to be a little hotter.

I definitely would be interested to see if anyone has done a similar measurement for the Power Carbon.

Ghost, Check Coach James' posts in the Mizuno Demos thread.

DD just got the Power Carbon, and loves it. No exit velocity measurements, but I can see after a few days of swinging (takes out the new bat adrenaline factor) it that it has boosted her output.

DD loves hers Ghosts. She likes a heavy feel, her exit speed increased considerably going from 33/23 Ghost to a 33/25. 4-5 mph.

When we demo’d the new Mizunos, she had the same exit speed with a 33/23 Power Carbon as the 33/25 Ghost.

Her new 33/24 Power Carbon should arrive today. (Thanks Core!) Needed a dual stamp bat anyway so we are going to give it a go!

The ball coach model seems to be. There are lots of videos on YouTube comparing the Ball coach to expensive radars.

The Ball Coach is $300 which is expensive enough for me. I've tested mine per the company's suggestion (driving at a set MPH and zapping street signs) and it was dead-on, assuming my car is accurate.

Ran mine side by side with stalkers and other radars many times. Dead on. Occasionally 1mph off but that’s a small margin of error. Such a great device for a compact product.

And people will argue all day long that lighter is always better  . Here is just one example of many.

Anywho...haha, pretty good getting equal exits from a bat that was too light for her

Westwind - interesting post and you've got me wondering...you've probably shared this before but how big is your DD? Height, weight, age, strength? My twins have been swinging 34/24 bats (CFX and a Ghost) and having some success but their new TB coach wants them to drop down to a 33". Stronger than average for 5'5", weighing in at 128-140 has me wondering about going heavier with a 33" Mizuno PC? The CFX was pretty much at stated weight and of course the Ghost was over.

There is a perfect weight for every batter. Too many people just read a book and say, gee, lighter bat will swing faster and exit faster...NO.
Also, some has to be said about what the hitters intention is as well at the plate.
You can dry swing a light bat 500mph or tee swing...but in a game swing, you aren't doing that. Its more controlled. There is a point that
you aren't swinging a bat any faster. If you can swing a 33/24 as fast in a game as you can a 33/23, I would do a 33/24. But I am a very simple
minded man, so just my opinion.

Good ol' Ray Demarini said...swing the heaviest bat possible without giving up bat speed.
