Anyone know the difference in leather quality when comparing Rawlings Liberty Advance to Rawlings HOH Fastpitch gloves? Im looking to purchase DD a new glove as her hand me down A2000 is getting a bit too floppy. Not looking to spend $250 on a new A2000, but want a glove that is equal in quality. The Rawlings gloves seem to be going for 150 or less both the HOH and RLAs. I'm not familiar with the Dual Core that HOHs use, but read a few reviews that say they breakdown too quick?? . The HOH gloves pre Dual Core were easily equal to the A2000s, IMO.

Anyone know of any deals on an 11.75 or 12" gloves other than the Rawlings??

my 14U DD has a LA 12.5 and my 16U DD has a HOH 12". Both are good gloves, but it's clear that the HOH is sturdier and will last longer. The LA was basically ready to play out of the box, and break in on the HOH was quite a bit easier than I expected, but my impression may have been influenced by the eternity it took to break in my Nocona catchers mitt.

What model HOH fastpitch glove are you specifically looking at?

And without going into a ton of specific details, stay away from a Dual Core glove unless you have a really young daughter. How old is she, what position(s) does she play, how advanced is she and how much does she play through the year? Dual Core Rawlings are made from Horween leather (yes, the famous Horween Tannery) but they're made from Featherlite leather, which is NOT true Horween ball glove leather!

I haven't spent any time checking out the Liberty Advance or the Rawlings FP gloves, but I *think* they're basically the same now?

Fastpitch or true HOH baseball glove?

This a very timely post. I too am looking at a Rawlings HOH. DD has been using a Rawlings liberty advanced 11.75 inch for about 2 years and its getting floppy. With improving prospects of playing beyond HS i may be in the market as well. Ebay has 11.75 HOH for under $200. Id like to hear opinions on HOH or other comparables. Resident glove expert Annasdad is a Rawlings fan i believe. Me too i like the I web on the LA and HOH.

After reading Annasdads post above the gloves on ebay are dual core and or feather lite horween.

Hey inde, how old is your daughter also? I love I-webs too but you know they play flatter and shallow, which isn't necessarily a bad thing! Depending on your DD's age and playing ability I'm always going to recommend a Rawlings Pro1000-HC from Don Morton Sports, just have to be willing to put in the time and break it in correctly!

Please do not forget about the Vinci gloves. Drakemir on here has some really good deals on them and I can say if you get the BV-1929 is a very stiff out of the box. I have not heard anybody talk bad about them anywhere. Annasdad is being kind enough to start the break in period for my DD so she can be ready between xmas and start of spring ball with her new glove.

Just walked in the door, it’s sitting on the kitchen counter, it’s definitely stiff, especially the heel and palm!
