Does anyone have any feedback using these? After three + seasons, DD's All Star CMW3000 is giving up the ghost, and the current team is requiring Wilson/Louisville leather.

The LXT catcher's mitt is made with steerhide and is very similar to the All Star in design/web. Any feedback is appreciated!

Hey #10, sorry I’m no help with this particular glove, if I remember right we got our CMW3000’s right around the same time, money well spent!! Mine is definitely showing it’s age too, I’ve actually looked into buying a padded glove to wear inside of my mitt, Anna’s starting to wear my hand out after each lesson!

Good luck with a new mitt, it’s got a lot to live up to to compete with the CMW3000!

Yessir, the All Star has been a workhorse! I had to replace the web lace about six months ago. The web is starting to tear in one spot and one of the heel laces has broken on the inside. Not bad for year round use for three seasons.

Found a place in OC to check one of the LXTs out in person after practice tomorrow.

Considered getting the A2000, but closed web + superskin = DD veto.

My daughter has used a Xeno catcher's mitt for a season of 12 and a season of 14. She's happy with it. It's in good shape.

How long has DD been using her Xeno? What age group is she catching?

She just finished 10u and has 2 full seasons with the glove. DD has a two older pitchers that she catches in lessons for once a week as well

No experience with the LXT mitt or Xeno mitt, but you’ll want to stay away from the Zephyr made by Slugger. We got one back when they were all leather (buffalo hide), and the padding in the palm is just too thick to be able to catch right with any pitching velocity below 70. You just can’t feel anything. Now the Zephyr has a mesh back, but I bet the padding is the same. The only plus I can think of for this mitt is that buffalo hide will last longer than your DD’s softball career. Great mitt for a bucket dad, not so much for an actual catcher.

#10, I just spent a few minutes playing on Wilson’s customizer building an A2000 mitt, looks like a closed web is all they offer?! I personally don’t have an issue with a closed web, but for a $359 custom, you’d think they would offer at least a couple different options (closed & H-web)!!

Loved your “DD veto” comment

Look at the Marucci site. I think their customs are the best on the market for the price. You get several options of web styles and colors.
