House brands are 99% complete and utter trash. I am a fan of leather covers also...feel they hold up better. Not the cheapest, but you do get what you pay for.
Def a Dudley Heat fan. Decker makes a good ball as well. So is the Dream seam.

A little advice is, if you can, piggy back with a local league/org (if you know anybody) when you need to buy balls...if you buy enough, shipping is free. Leagues usually
get enough. Shipping is what kills you on buying balls online.

Core, I quoted you mostly to make sure you saw this. Question:

What about 300/52 COR slowpitch balls strictly for cage/front toss? They always seem pretty hard but are softer than fp balls according to cor right? So “safer” for bats or no?

Added some Sterling balls to my cage assortment 6 months ago. They are top quality. Baden has not been mentioned, I like those too, along with the others mentioned.

Quickly put...yes. If you are looking for a VERY durable BP ball and not hard on bats...look at the Trump Evil BP52 balls. They are made for bp

COR is the reflectivity (think I just made that up...not sure :) ) of a ball, compression is hardness.

So the 300/52 is soft, but lively because of the high bounceback of the COR

Dudley Thunder Heat's are good as well as the Bownet balls. My DD also uses my Evil BP52's for BP since I have plenty of balls from playing SP

Not here.
Go to the outdoor flea market/farmers market and pick up new and used softballs. I can get new balls for $2 and used balls for $1. Luck of the draw on what I can find. We just use them for batting practice.

Ah, yes the Evil BP’s! “These Suckers Fly!”, lol! I have some of those somewhere, I don’t use them in the cage. Confession: I try to pull one of those out of the bucket when we are doing BP on a field and someone drives by so dd can show off.

I have had really good luck with used slowpitch balls just as someone else mentioned.

No...not the "these suckers fly" balls...they are death to bats. They are something like a 600 compression ball. They are only made to boost egos :)

They make a legit BP52 ball that hits just like any 52 core ball but withstands the abuse of BP more than regular balls.
