DD currently swing 2017 Demarini CF9 33" with -11 drop. I don't know what any of this means. We are in the market for a new bat. I know nothing. We bought her the CF9 when we noticed how many girls had them in their bags last summer during the All Star season. We let her join a travel team (10U) and she hit really well with her CF9. She loves this bat. She's 10, but she's 5' 3" and about 105 lbs. Tall and lanky. Where do we go from here? Do we bite the bullet and get a Ghost or Prism? Her team mostly played in USSSSA, is that one too many s's?, tournaments this summer, so I think the Prism wouldn't be allowed. I am just very ignorant of what's out there, and when I look online, I get overwhelmed. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Why does she need a new bat? Based on what you've said about her size, the one she has isn't a bad choice for size. 33" might be a little long for most girls her height, but if she's comfortable with the length and weight, I wouldn't go shorter at this point.

The only thing I might do is go to a drop 10. That's a really long bat for a girl her size. My daughter is 2nd year 12 at that size and swings a 31/21. Most college players swing 33 or 34 inch bats so don't be in a hurry to increase length.

If she hits really well it, and the bat is still in good shape, I wouldn't run out and buy a new one. You might be asking for problems.

It's sure not too small for her...33/34 inches is typically HS age/size and older.

Holy crap! That is a long bat for a 10u player! My kid just graduated to a 34" in the last 6 months and she is 5'10" 150lbs. She has gained 15 lbs in the last 12 months too.

Just for comparison, my DD is 5'6"/150+lbs/13yo and very strong. She has been swinging a 33/23 for a about a year an a half. She's grown about an inch in that time.

Another comparison...DD is 14, 5'4" 95 lbs and swings a 32/22. She has always used a -10 bat. She is skinny but strong.
DD will be starting HS this fall so we may toy with jumping up to a 33/23 but she is hitting so well with her 32" I don't want to mess with things!

My older daughter (5'-3", moderately lean) used a 32/21 in her freshman year. Then she quit softball for cheer :(

DD played up this week in an 18U tournament. Team has a lot of Juniors and Seniors on it. DD is a first year 14U and swings a 33/23. The majority of bats in the dugout were 32/22.

Thank you. I honestly just don’t know any better and I just discovered a few of her teammates got new bats, so I think it’s more of a want than a need.
