Hey folks, my DD is in need of a new glove. She’s mainly a pitcher/infielder, but she’s always used and preferred a 13” glove (I’ve tried to change that, believe me).

How big do the Vinci gloves play at 13”? In the past she’s used mainly Mizuno which are probably true 13”, but some others are probably smaller even though marked as 13”.

I’d like to invest in s better glove with some semblance of longevity, but I hate to spend $250 or more on something she’ll hate and not be confident with. She is a high B/low A level player who plays nearly year-round.

Thanks!

We just received our new Vinci glove from Drakemir (definitely go through him). I was told they measure about .25" smaller, so my DD's 12" is actually 11.75".

Look into a Vinci RV1961-L. It's stamped 12.75" and will measure between a 12.5"-12.75". Two girls on our last travel team had them, one girl for CF & RF, and the other for pitcher & 1B, they both loved them! Once you get larger than 12.75" gloves in fastpitch, they start to get too heavy for most girls.....most, not all. James44 is right, contact Drakemir here.

Edit: I think a 12.75" is too big for infield except for at 1B, but that's just me.

I bought a 13" Vinci for my outfielder DD (BMB-OB). It is too big for her hand so it is not getting used at all. She is 15 yo and 5'4". It fits my hand well. They are hard gloves to break in especially if your fingers aren't long enough to properly close the glove.

The RV1961-L is more fingers than palm, it's really best suited for outfield. Having said that, my DD used hers last year at both corners.

I'm about to move a Rawlings PRO208-6, which is a true 12.5" infield glove, because it's just too big for my DD. You might want to try to seek out one of those for her to try on.

No, I agree, after all it is a baseball outfield glove. But so would a 13" Mizuno which is what she's using, I was trying to point them to something she's somewhat familiar with already, just a little smaller.

Are you ordering a custom Pro208, September RGGC? 208's, especially a 208-6 (H-web) are hard to come by unless you build one.

We do agree, and since this thread is about Vinci gloves, I can't think of a better glove in that size range for a 12-14u fastpitch player than the RV1961. The hand and finger stalls seem to be the perfect size for most girls that age, and the break-in process was pretty quick for ours.

But on the subject of glove size, I picked up the RGGC Sherry PRO208 last year as a potential 3B glove for DD, but it's too big for her.

Anna’s using a Pro206 now and loves it! The Pro 206 & 207 are the size range we’ll stay with probably until she finishes college.

Just get her BV1929-L and be done with it...perfect all around glove for those positions. It's stamped at 12.5" (don't tell her it's any smaller).

You know I would have probably recommended a 1929 normally, but going from a 13" to in all reality a 12.25" glove, pretty sure she would have noticed, that's why I suggested the 1961 to start with.
