My daughter plays 10u travel ball. She currently swings a 30” Louisville Xeno-11.
The bat seems to heavy for her. I am looking to get a drop 12 bat. Is the Demarini the way to go? There doesn’t seem to be a ton of options with the drop 12
Thanks

How big is your daughter? It may not be the weight but the length. Many 10u players are swinging bats that are way too long for them because they could swing them fine in coach pitch. My daughter was about 4 ft 10 and 80lbs in second year teens and swung a 30/20. First year a 29, and extra year she played up a 28. Now shes an 11u shes 5 ft 2 and 90ish pounds in a 31/21. Shes very strong and athletic just not very big.

Drop12 is very limited. Problem is, your drop11 xeno is wayyy overweight. They were always an ounce atleast over sticker as is most drop11s.

That Xeno is probably 20+ ounces...not the 30/19 you think. Many drop11s are way over. The only drop 11 that is very close, is the Sprite

What do you think about a 30” drop 11 ghost? I was thinking of getting her one and putting a choker on if necessary

Still going to be overweight for ya. I think you have to decide weight wise first where you want to be for her and what fits her better. Then decide on bat.

if you are thinking a choker, try it first with the bat you have and see if that helps the weight better and she likes it.

IMO the best bat out there for a smaller framed/not as strong yet 10u player is the Bustos. A drop 13 that’s pretty well right on weight. Might not be as good as the true composites but the half and half give you the best of both worlds. Plus....these bats can be had for relatively cheap and knowing that one year can make a difference where a drop 11 could be in the near future makes it financially favorable.

DD started with a -11 Xeno that actual weight was 22.1 vs sticker of 19. Took me a bit to figure out why her swing went downhill so fast.... bat too heavy = bad swing, arrow causes the Indian to shoot poorly.
