Not to make another glove thread since there are quite a few in this room, but looking for some outfielder glove recommendations for my DD. Generally she plays MI on her travel team, so she has a decent 12" glove for infield play. Outfield is her secondary position, but she rarely plays there on that team. The team that she's subbing for uses her mostly as a center fielder, and her 12" seems a fuzz small for that position. I could see her playing mostly outfield in high school ball next year as well, so shopping around for a decent 12.5" or so. I guess a 12.5" is about the right size? She's about 5' 2" and 110 lbs. She plays about 80+ games a year, but since it's her secondary position I don't want to spend a ton of money on it. What can I get for around or below $150? She does want an H web or I web. I like the Liberty Advanced, but she's not sure she would care for the finger shift.Plus it looks like the 12.5" comes with a trapeze web, which she likes for infield but not for the outfield for whatever reason. The Vinci RV1923 is just a little over our budget, but close enough that it's still an option. Any other options or opinions?

Seems like you have done a bunch of shopping around already and sort of know what you are looking for - shoot me a message and I can give you a dealer quote for the RV1923. The PC/22 series break in quickly, and work well as a secondary position glove.

I'm not a fan of an individual player using multiple gloves based on what position they play on any given day... get them a glove that they love and they won't play with anything else. If you think your kid is going to play multiple positions get them one glove that is a jack of all trades which is usually going to be a 12-12.5".
My daughter plays middle infield and pitches 99.9% of the time and uses a 12" Mizuno Global Elite... on the rare occasion that her travel ball coach gets a wild hair and throws her in center field she just uses her normal glove. You wouldn't be able to persuade her to give up her normal glove (that she loves) just because she's playing the outfield.

For a 12.5" H-web for your price range...that's not a Vinci...my first thought is an All-Star Vela. Although it's a 3-finger design, it's doesn't really feel different than a traditional finger position. If Drakemir can meet you needs with a Vinci, go for it.

I think you'll be pleased with your conversation with Drakemir concerning the Vinci. Just went through a very similar situation and picked up a Vinci RV 1961 for the outfield duties that my kids see.

I did follow your thread. I showed my DD the picture of your RV1961 and she really likes it. How are the finger stalls on that one? My kid is on the small side, but I would say her hands are average size for a 14 year old. I don't want to get her a glove made for sausage fingers lol. Would a 12.75" glove be a little big for her? I know it's only a 1/4" bigger description wise than the RV1923.

Drakemir, is there any other difference between the 1961-22 & 1923-22 other than the the 1961 being a 12.75 & the 1923 being a 12.5?

mudrunner - one of the reasons we went with this glove for OF duties (vs some other companies) was the snug finger stalls. Both of my DDs (identical twins) will be using this glove from time to time in the OF although DDP gets more time there than DDC. Both of them have what I would call medium/average size hands and fingers, 5'4", 125 - 135lbs (DDC the catcher has a bit more heft down low than DDP the pitcher) and playing 16A and HS Varsity ball. The gloves get a LOT of use. Honestly they've never had a problem in the OF using their smaller IF gloves, the RV 1961 was an attempt at prolonging the life of all of their gloves while also giving them that little, possible extra edge of a bigger glove out there. So far during the break in process they seem to like the RV1961, it is a brick and takes some work but it is a nice piece of leather.

It sounds like you're talking about my kid. She had always played 2B/P so we moved her down to 12" Mizuno Global Elite about 14 months ago. This year she made varsity as a freshman and is playing exclusively in the outfield. She'll probably do the same next year as there are no seniors in the infield. There probably have been 2 balls this year that another 1" would have made the difference between catching and not catching. She's about 5'1". On the new travel team she's on, it looks like she'll probably play half the innings between 2B and 3B, and half in the OF. Maybe we should just spend the money on speed training instead!
