Good for you remembering that..I cannot remember what metal bats I used in all the years I played. I think they were all Easton bats but I am not sure. The only bats I remember are the wood bats I used in college summer ball.

This bat was unique. One of the first composite bats I remember. It had a very oversized knob as well. Lots of pop.

I saw that too on their instagram. Looks like there’s 5 offerings in the lineup with the titanium being their top of the line. With some of the comments I’ve seen, it looks as though Mizuno has out done Louisville (price wise) at $450 for the titanium. Haha.

Here are all the Mizuno Fastpitch softball bats currently available.

There are Mizuno F-19 bats for sale on Mizuno, but not sure if they're legal or not.

Interesting article done back in 2005 summarizing the rise and fall of titanium (and aluminum) bats for slowpitch. By 2005, composite bats started outperforming titanium (specifically the Miken Ultra and Easton Synergy tested the best back then).
Why are Titanium Bats Illegal?

Titanium was very expensive and outperformed aluminum bats back in the days of metal slowpitch. But with composite, kinda killed the "legend" of
titanium. And prices were lower than Titanium.

I think all companies made a titanium bat. I know LS, Easton and Worth made one. If you find the LS TPS Ti, I believe that's going for huge dollars
as a collectors item.

After the Techfire line Mizuno had, they kinda fell apart with what they were trying to do as a company. I don't think coming back
with a 450 bat is the way to go, but who knows, there's always someone out there. I keep rooting for them to figure something out and get some kind of plan.

In sp, there was a huge Techfire following. The og black, Rage, Fury and Crush.

I gotta think the titanium bat will be extremely durable. Better strength/durability and flexibility than aluminum, probably more durability than some composites. I'll wait a while to see batting results before considering springing for $450.

Here is the message Mizuno gave when asked about the F19 composition:

"The bat's barrel is wrapped with titanium around hot metal alloy core. Mizuno wrapped it around the core alloy so there isn't a vertical seam across, we found this made it stronger and more durable. Also the bat's handle is made out of black onyx carbon that is attached to the Dynamic Damper connection that helps flex the bat just the right amount for a really strong feel. Some of the key features is Hot metal Titanium barrel, Spiral roll construction, Iridescent graphics, high performance with great durability, Black Onyx Carbon construction. Plus an addition advantage such as no break in period!"

If I'm not mistaken, the spiral core sounds kind of like what Anderson has used in some aluminum bats. Sounds promising, but I'm hoping there are some demos available this summer at travel ball tournaments before springing for $450.

And now it seems the "brand new" Mizuno Ghost, along with the Nighthawk and Silhouette models, are being discontinued and marked down.

My daughter swings a 2017 Nighthawk. She likes it and it works for her. The price could be very "right" in a few more months.
