No, I sent it off to J. Rous for a re-lace and a new thumb stay. Don't be fooled, the palm side of the glove doesn't look nearly as clean.

I would think you could swap in a bar web, but you'd need to punch 4 new holes. I just went the other way, and ordered an H web for a GG47.

Yeah Rous is a magician! If I do turn it into a trap I’d definitely send it to Jeffrey. If I just re-lace it I’ll do it myself. Today I ordered my last glove, won’t see it until September....but it’s the last glove purchase I ever make, I’m done!

DD's other glove is a primo sherry PRO208 from last September's batch. She'll use that one this weekend since the Vinci will still be in the mail.

yep, I'm sure. Have a brand new one sitting right here that's less than a month old from Drakemir.

Hey Tatonka, now of course I may be wrong.......I wonder if that’s a mistake that got through QC and was just missed. Wayne at Vinci warranted a custom 12” Kip glove for Anna that developed two fingernail holes in the liner. When we got the replacement it had mid-finer lacing.....on a 12” glove??

I was so blown away by the kind gesture on his part I didn’t have the heart to say anything, seriously a year went by and I finally gave Wayne a call to ask him about it, he had me send him a pic of the back of the glove. In less than 10 minutes he called me back and said “you’re right, that’s a mistake and got missed by our QC!”

As far as your glove, I wouldn’t worry about it but when it gets really broken it it’ll probably develop wide gaps between the fingers, especially between the index and middle fingers, I’m sure they’re out there but I can’t think of any 12.75” gloves without mid-finder lacing right off the top of my head? Since yours is so new, maybe it’s a design change on Vinci’s part?

EDIT: I just Googled RV1961 images, everyone where I could see the back of the fingers had mid-finger lacing!

Yep, sent in my preorder payment for the September RGGC. It’s for a HOH Timberglaze 12.25” NP7-2, I don’t own Timberglaze leather or an I-web, knocked out both with one custom!

Hey seamonkey, tell me about her Pro208......how big is the hand stall? And how's the size comparison between it and the RV1961? Have you ever measured it, wonder if it's a 1/4" shorter than it's listed size like most Rawlings? And I'd imagine it's wider than her 1961. Anna's Pro206 is like a salad bowl, so I know that 208 is wide and bowl shaped!

The NP7 I ordered was definitely my #1 choice, but Chad also has a Pro207 & a Pro208 on this years list and I been thinking about a Pro208 for about a year now???? Plus this years 208 is old school tan, tan lace, H-web, gray split welting, and Vegas gold stitching & embroidery........yes sir!! Need to go water my money tree:rolleyes:.

I did the same Google search after this came up and found the dame thing! This really got me curious and I'll be the first to admit I am not a glove expert by any means. I asked Wayne about this and here is his response about it being a mid-finger laced glove...."It used to be...But we have recently stoped putting the middle lace there because we
have had some problems with it."

We have been working on this glove and it's about game ready now, way too early to know how it will hold up. So, I've got my fingers crossed! ;-)

I really wouldn't worry about it......unless you really want long straight fingers, cause this glove will definitely get a bowl shape it like an infielders glove. With it's longer fingers and the space it's going to develop between the fingers, I can't see how it'll not become bowl shaped?

Here's Anna's 12" custom that was a mistake. This one has become the HS team community glove!

This is definitely an infield pattern, with shorter fingers and more palm area than the 1961. I was a little worried that the glove would be too big for her hand, but it's not a problem at all. Once I re-laced the wrist to the first set of holes it's really snug. The fingers aren't as snug as the 1961, but they're not too big for her.

Also, the split gray welting is already trashed at the fingertips.

Quick note to add that the new Vinci BV1929 we just received does NOT have mid-finger lacing either (we have an older model BV1929-L from about two years ago that has it).
