So Cal
did they by chance purchase with a visa? Someone else in the forum said something about going through card services to get it replaced or something.

Definitely worth a try if you used a CC.

Recently, while setting up a new TV in our house, I slipped and the screen banged into the corner of a table, ruining the screen (DW was very unhappy with me). The manufacturer's warranty didn't cover accidental damage, but our Visa card did. A quick call to Visa's customer service, and the issue was handled very easily.

I understand your frustration, and you make a valid point. However, the reality is that the bat industry operates differently.

new car dealers CANT sell a car to a third party lot...and have it still considered a new car and have the same benefits. Its a used car at that point,
has to be titled to that other car lot now. And that new car dealer wouldnt have to offer any of the free maintenance or any other free stuff they do to people that
buy new cars from them per manufacturer rules.

(we aren't talking about dealer trades...and yes, I work at a car dealership :))

While recently shopping for a car for my wife, it was typical to see used cars offered with the original factory warranty still in effect (3 years/36k miles, for example) until the vehicle reached one of those limits, regardless of whether or not it had been previously owned. I believe that this is what the OP was referring to.

That said, those warranty terms were also on vehicles being offered at the manufacturer's dealer, not a 3rd party used car lot.

Yes, but its whats left of the warranty. You don't get another 3/36 warranty or whatever because it was new when the third party lot bought it. Technically, you could buy a car with 10 miles
on it and have no warranty if it sat around on someone's third party lot. You get NO new car benefits. No free inspections for life, oil changes,
whatever else the new car buyer gets. And if you look at every bat manufacturer...again, it states on every one of them warranties are NOT
transferable which is there to keep third party people out of the loop. This is all there to protect dealers.

I know what you mean and your point, but I just think someone is mad because they bought from some joker off ebay or fb and got lied to. But hey, he saved a few
dollars atleast :)
