Ha! No worries, I’m enjoying the whole deal. I’m reading every one of the posts, no matter what a person wants to learn about, if you can find someone who is truly interested in that item like Annasdad is with gloves it is worth paying attention!

I kind of enjoy the whole custom discussion and I’m finding that if I sell enough of my old gear and equipment on the Bay I am paying with “free money” lol. I dumped a bat and a glove so far, two more bats and some other junk are on there now.

My problem is I've always been a buyer, never a seller. I really need to clear out some old gear as well. One of my hobbies is finding a good pattern used glove and re-lacing it, cleaning and conditioning it and giving it away to someone who needs it...... and will use it, makes me feel good. It's got to be a good glove to start with before I'll put any effort into it. I'm always going to PIAS and looking, every now and then I run across something worth fixing.

Right up there with gloves, I love pistols and Spyderco knives, just bought two new handguns and I'm pretty sure my gloves funds are going to slow down, the wife has been looking at me sideways after picking these two up at my FFL. I go to a pretty large church, with a ton of kids, our pastor and our church body take security VERY serious, especially with the way things have been going with soft targets over the past several years. So when someone wants to get their CCW, I'm the one who takes them to get ready for their class, so far I'm around 8 for 8? I actually took my pastor to a range 3 times, he scored really high in his CCW class and easily got his license.

We were playing in a 14U tournament in SC, we got knocked out Saturday afternoon, we really stunk that weekend! There was a huge gun store real close to our hotel, I told Anna I wanted to check it out before we hit the road, she was 13 at the time. The minute we walked in the door we heard popping coming from the range. She didn't hesitate, "okay dad, you promised me you'd teach me to shoot a handgun by 12, I'm 13 now.......well??" We never even made it to all the glass cases, straight to the range we went!

This gun shop probably had 60/70 handguns to rent.....she pitches, she's strong, I sure don't want to shoot a .22:rolleyes:, so I rented a 9mm Glock 19. So the first pistol my baby girl ever shot was a 9mm!! The part that made me feel so good, besides how awesome she did, was the range officer approached me after we finished and said, "sir do you have a minute...? There's probably 8 or 9 very qualified men here at this store who could have worked with your DD, but there's no one here, including myself who could have done a better job, that was awesome to watch!" Then he asked me if I worked in law enforcement or where I got my training, I told him no, and I learned everything from the best teacher ever....my dad! He smiled real big and shook my hand, I forgot all about that tournament!

Not sure why I decided to share that other than always remembering what a awesome day that was!

Funny/stupid thing is, I had two Glock pistols in the car, one in my clothes bag and one in the glove box, and still rented one??

That's awesome, I know where you are coming from with that feeling. We used to give away quite a few bats to girls who needed/deserved them until Wilson f....d us over. Main
reason I am doing my best to be a thorn in their sales side.

As a person who has heard Dave Grossman speak several times I’ll offer Annasdad a hearty handshake and a pat on the back for being a fellow Sheepdog!

Thanks Ww, we have a really good situation at our church, multiple police officers and multiple CCW holders. We have one officer who I have the upmost respect for who’s a member of our County swat team and just a serious 160lb. BA! But you’d never know it because he’s just the most humble and serving man I’ve ever met, until it’s time to not be, great guy! He’s in charge of our security team and takes it very serious.

I’m familiar with Dave Grossman and his killology studies, but have read more material from Massad Ayoob. I know this A2000 thread took a strange turn and I’m sorry for that but guns are a daily thing in our household, both of my children see a pistol everyday of their life, they respect them and follow the rules I have in place! And with what’s going on in the media right now with politicians and certain groups using children to try and change legislation, my children know the truth. I’ll stop right there. Can’t wait to hear about your DD’s reaction when she opens that new custom A2000 box:D

I know it took a weird turn but I couldn’t resist the reference!

Much respect for anyone who has thought ahead enough to have plan for something so unthinkable, so unspeakable but too common.

Good morning! I just checked, it is on step 5 of 9, it says that is the last step before they begin sewing the glove together. It is definitely a long process! I thought we might get it sooner than promised but I now think they were serious about it taking that long!

I had checked and it was April 4th when you said you got the email from Wilson. I think the Rawlings customs are at a 4 to 5 week turnaround now. Just looking forward to seeing some pics of it, but I'm more interested in hearing you and your DD's thoughts about the DW5's size and pattern.
