DD is 13 years old, 5'7" tall with a sturdy build. Not fat. Not skinny. But strong. Her current bat is a 34/25 Rocketech. She has hit one over the fence in practice and hit about a half dozen in games that have hit the fence on the fly but nothing OTF in a game. I'm thinking about biting the bullet and getting her a composite bat but I have questions about size, weight and endload. I think the 25oz is where she needs to be.
1. Should I get her a 33/25 or 34/25 without the endload?
2. Stay with the 34/25 endloaded?
3. Is a composite bat really going to add distance to her hits?

Some of the team parents have started calling her "Hacksaw Jim Dugan" because, they say, she hits with a 2x4.

Answer to this is easy...yes. And will help on mishits as well.

As for weight, you may want to try some bats out there. That's the best way to figure it out. Going from an RT to comp, is def a diff weight.
And problem is, you are looking at a weird weight, so not many around in stores or with teammates to try.

She may even be more comfy with a 34/26 coming from a 34/25 RT

coolestcoachever There are lots of inexpensive slowpitch bats out there. If she's swinging a 34/25, just buy one of the many cheap 34/26 options. (There are lots of brand new, full composite, slow pitch bats in the low 100 range.) I ordered a '16 leftover 34/28 endloaded LS based bat for my DD to start out with. She was pretty happy with it. She got used to it, then I talked to Core about the best slow pitch bats to get. Now she's swinging a 34/26 endloaded and VERY happy with it. If your DD is strong enough to swing the 34 -8, then there's a whole new world available to you from the slowpitch side of the fence.

And you don't have to get endload 34/26...they make balanced too. I have moved a few people from RT's...and most need to go heavier to get the same feeling from composite

FWIW 6’3” 170# DD swung a 34/24 in HS and generated far more power with it than a 34/25. The biggest bat isn’t always the best and the extra weight greatly affects bat speed. I just don’t see a 13 yo being able to swing that heavy of a bat unless its BP or facing weak pitching.

Yeah, when I first read that..........13yo swinging a 34" Rocketech, my first thought was she must be insanely big or strong, or both! What's a 25oz RT actually weigh?
