Ghost durability issues?

Let me lay this out up front...I don't have an agenda. I don't love or work for DeMarini, Louisville, or anyone else. I'm honestly just trying to make an educated decision.

My daughter seems ready to move up from her CF9 31/20, and I was considering a 31/21 Ghost. A local coach that's a good buddy of mine, said his daughter broke hers in three days. He also said two more of the girls on his team have broken theirs recently. I get on here to ask about them, and see another thread discussing this very same issue.

ALL bats that are worth a flip at all seem to break on occasion...I get it that. My question though, is are the Ghost more fragile than most? Other on-line reviews seem to indicate it's not just this site or my buddy seeing a fairly "high" rate of failure. Am I overstating the issue?

I desperately want to be wrong about this, because Core is my favorite guy in the world to buy from and the Ghost seems hot and I'd like my girl to try one. I do NOT want to be constantly mailing broken bats around this spring though.

What say DFP?

Without providing what they are doing with their bats its anyone's guess. I've seen a surprising number of players using their brand spanking new bat to hit white slow pitch balls off the tee. Or the guy that complained when his 11yr old kept breaking her bat, she used baseballs to practice. Too have a group of girls all breaking their bat they have something in common, but is it their bat, or what they are doing with it.

I had one girl that I had to put my foot down, and tell her that it was cute to clean her cleats by smacking them with her bat, but when she moved up to metal cleats she turned her bat into something I thought we had found info a dumpster.

iddave, DD beat up her Ghost throughout all fall ball (14u). Got to thinking the thing is indestructible. Put a ton of swings on the bat. During the offseason lessons, she cracked the Ghost hitting off faster pitching (~57-58 mph). Easton customer service was great, and we got a new one back in decent time over the holidays. The first day of use with her new bat, she tore some of the rubber off of the CXN between the barrel and the handle. Not sure whether it will pass inspection. While DD loves the bat, she is starting to question whether the bat is worth the additional hassle. As a result, we've been trying out other bats (also because we need a bat for NSA).

Core and Easton were great in working with us! I'm worried that the Ghost is fragile as well.

We've had one on our team that the owner has used for most of last season, fall ball and now indoor......she doesn't use a practice bat (despite my recommendation)......not an issue with her 32/22

we have several 31/21'a on our team, and haven't had an issue there yet, either......although we broke 3 CF9's last year in a two week period lol

I've heard of several broken Ghosts already. Seems like a high percentage, since not too many girls are using them yet. No complaints about replacement or customer service, seems like Easton is handling everyone's problems appropriately.

I don't think any agenda. Bats break, it is what is it. Thing is on new bats, once a few break...that's all you hear on forums. Like always, the breaks far outnumber
the people that say their bats are doing fine. Nobody goes on a forum and says their bat is fine...haha. So if a million are sold, and 1000 break...pretty good, heck
10K breaking is a pretty darn good ratio. But people will look and say, geez, look at all the breaks. And I get it, if your bat breaks, you have to go thru the hassle
and that is the only bat that concerns you...as it should be.

And as I have said before...you don't know the backstories of a lot of these breaks. I will guarantee half of breaks are things that should NOT be done to bats, as grmerrill
stated. I have had personal phone calls about bats being used with baseballs, hit on a garage door, smashed on the ground. And you wouldn't believe, the bat was blamed
for not holding up...yes, that's the truth. Also, add in the breaks of people that continue to use all these newer bats for bp. I try and warn of that. But you will never hear that
part as well. Bat only lasted one month...we put 5000 hits on it in that one month, but its only month :)

Just trying to put things into perspective when thinking about bat breakages. Are some bats going to just implode...YES! A certain percentage of bats coming off a line are going
to just fail...that's a guarantee.

One more thing, and its notable with Easton Ghosts, is the paint. Many paint cracks people think are breaks...aren't. But Easton just gives you a new bat and calls it a day. So add in
that. Its not like they are going to call you up and say its paint and deny a claim. Easier to keep a customer, send a bat and be done with it.

And Demar has been fragile for a long time, I think its just been assumed as a "given" that its gonna break when buying one and nobody complains anymore...haha.

I thank you for pointing this out because I didn't want to bring that up and blamed for trying to redirect the original question :)
