Yes, I believe so. Either that or she positioned her hand right on the CXN when bunting and somehow tore it. Easton customer service has been great and will be sending a replacement soon. DD still needs to get much better at barreling the ball on inside pitches.

I kinda figured. What I was trying to get at was, this wasnt really the bats fault or lack of durability. Tough to blame Easton and say you don't want to
be wasting time sending bats back all the time and have to rethink the bat purchase, when this had pretty much nothing to do with the bat itself.
This would be one of those, oh well, sh!t happens...haha :)

Core, that's a really good point. It definitely was one of those weird things that happens. First time I've ever seen it happen on any bat. The bummer part is, with the tear at the CXN, even though I'm pretty sure the bat still functions the same, and even though I bet Easton can make the argument that the damage is cosmetic, there is no way of telling whether an ump will disqualify the bat upon inspection. Got no choice but to get it repaired/replaced. Very fortunate Easton stands by their product.

Absolutely, gonna have to send it back. Reason I knew what was going on, had a customer come by and had the same thing. His dd
hit a few right off the rubber piece and it came off. Still hits fine, but doesn't look good...haha. Easton gave him a new one no matter
how it happened :). They wont turn the return down, no worries there.

I would think this is more than a paint crack.

This is just a thought, and I don’t know one way or the other, but what temperatures are the ghost failures occurring in? It is still winter. The outer barrel of the ghost is a softer composite, which would be more susceptible to becoming brittle in colder temps. When combined with hitting cold balls, which are harder than warm balls, it seems to me that the bat would be more likely to crack. If this is indeed the case, then we all might want to refrain from using the ghost in temperatures below certain levels. So far, I won’t let my DD swing her ghost below 70. Her bulletproof Mako does a pretty darn good job of serving as a substitute while the temperatures are low. Thoughts?

Depends on where you live I guess

My DD's bat had a very similar crack as grmereill's, and it happened in July in AZ. The crack was a bit longer and a tiny bit deeper than picture shown.

That's not my daughters bat, I wish she hit like that. It's seen lots of use.

Was it used in winter months at all prior to it cracking in July? Not questioning the time/location. Just trying to get some background. Mainly b/c I just got the ghost for my DD, so I’m trying to figure out what conditions caused others to crack so as to try and avoid it. If people honestly say they only used it in temps above 70, never hit in the cage with it, never never hit baseballs or tc balls with it, never tapped the dirt off cleats with it, etc, and it still cracked....
