Core will tell you not to do what I’m about to say and he knows way more about bats than I do. I’d listen to him, lol, but here I go....

We used to hit a lot of baseballs and ***good condition*** dimple balls, not waterlogged, frozen, hard as a rock ones out of the bottom of someone’s shed. We broke very few bats. This was two daughters and a couple of their friends. Thing about baseballs is the ones we were hitting were kinda mushy. They weren’t hard. They are also a lot lighter than softballs. It just never made me nervous. And they go really far, lol.

I have always had a “hit them like you stole them” attitude about bats. And again, we weren’t breaking bats.... But then this happened!

We have got away from hitting baseballs. Not because I’m worried about the bats but because I decided that the best way to hit yellow Softball size objects well is to hit yellow Softballs. (BTW, I do possess 3 buckets of white fastpitch balls. They do exist.). We also aren’t using the machine much anymore. Like nil. Mostly games, tee and old dude 30 mph from 20’ front toss.

Yet dd has broken 3 bats in 3 weeks. 2 different manufacturers. One was a factory warranty bat that didn’t last a week. Same model she used for practice and games for 6 months straight. It happens people. Would love to tell you it’s because my dd is a Super Beast but it’s just luck of the draw.

OMG...you are right WW...I am gonna say DO NOT do that...hahahaha

Bats back a few years were built to be hit a million times and built to hit anything. But with the demand for instant gratification,
durablilty has been compromised BY EVERY MANUFACTURER to give players what they want.

I will also say, you pay for returns, so use them!!!!

But I always have liked the attitude you have WW. I am on the same page with the "sh!t happens" mentality of breaks.
I have and do still play a lot of ball, and have been around many, many bat breaks...its just a way of life
for bats now. Maybe Im just more used to it than others. Its the reason you have warranties. And if there is something
wrong within a month or so, manufacturers wont even count it against your returns. Just in case it was a early break
defect...they don't want a flaw to cost you a return.

Would you see a problem In hitting tee balls with a composite bat? I wouldn't think so seeing how soft and forgiving they are. Never used baseball on the composite bats but we have hit them with an aluminum. When we do soft toss with baseballs It really seems to help her hand eye coordination In the games.

Does anyone have an opinion what Easton would do if the ghost is deemed illegal for even USA? Let's say it happens before April 1st just to put a timeframe on it.

Nothing. They waited to get the right stamp. It would be on USA, I could see them asking Easton to stop production and allowing grandfathered for awhile.

FWIW, bought a used Ghost in mid November from a buddy who's DD did not like the feel and went back to her old bat. The bat was maybe a month old when we got it. DD loves the bat other than we put a new grip on the bat. No issues thus far.

And I am ok with that...people swing bats differently than others and have diff likes and dislikes. Someone not liking the feel doesn't mean the bat doesn't perform. That's being honest.
Glad the next person liked it :)

Very seriously doubt this would ever happen. But if you are just playing the what if game...just like any other bat. If USA deemed any bat illegal, manufacturers don't have to
do anything or stop production. That's USA's issue.
