Anyone have experience with the Worth Legit, 2 piece? I’ve been looking at one for sale for use as a cage/practice bat. Trying to make her cf9 last as long as possible since my dw about killed me when I bought it. I can get it for $60 but don’t want to waste $ if it’s junk. It’s the blue and purple one if it matters.

If it's a cage bat, it doesn't matter if it's junk, as long as it holds together. That said, I don't think the Legit had a great rep for durability.

I guess I was wondering how good it was at eliminated stings. My dd always struggles with that, at 8 and 50lbs her hands are tiny. I bought her an older LS single piece composit and I think that thing gave her nightmares. I also know that as small as she is she isn’t wearing out her bat anytime soon but we do go to batting cages with the dimpled balls and you can just tell those things aren’t good for a bat. The sound makes me cringe.

The Louisville Slugger LXT is notorious for being very "smooth". Other than that, most 2-piece composite bats will be better than 1-piece for vibration/sting reduction. My DD says her CF8 bites her a little more than her Miken Freak Black, but she still prefers the CF8. She's also 13yo, and hits the ball pretty hard.

She actually used a Combat Maxxum last year due to needing the -13 in a 28”. For a single piece it wasn’t bad except on the worst mis-hits. That thing was hot as fire too, until it broke in half ☹️. Her CF9 gets her more than I think it should but it’s nothing she can't shake off. I wanted to go with the LXT but the CF9 popped up for $199 when they were $239 everywhere else. I figure st her age and size we should easily get 2 seasons out of it.

Sting frequency will diminish as she gets better about squaring up the ball in the sweet spot.

2 seasons, maybe. 2 years, not very likely.

Dang, you think 2 seasons is a stretch? I know the bigger girls go through them quick. If she’s hitting well and having fun then I guess it doesn’t matter how long it lasts. It seems that the -10’s seem to be a bit cheaper, maybe she will have growth spurt.

Right Here For Now
A two piece bat will ALWAYS lessen the sting more than a one piece due to the connection point. Durability or not, the bat swings smooth according to my DD when she tried one out. Plus the fact that your DD is younger, she should have no issues with durability I'm thinking. Honestly, for the price, it's a throw-away if it does break.

Now, is it comparable in weighting to a CF9? No. So cage bat or not, it will take some adjustment time between using each one which means depending upon which one she hits more, if she uses the other one, she'll be either under the ball or top it. I would recommend looking for another, older CF series bat that is evenly loaded. It would be far more comparable in weighting than any other bat out there. Unfortunately, this also means you'll probably pay more since Demarini fans like to hold onto them for the most part.

May just stick with her cf9 and stay out of the cage. We just started team practice back up so the cages aren’t needed anyway.

In my experience with my own DD, and being a coach during her 8U-12U years, my observation was that kids generally need a new bat every year until their growth slows down. There are always some exceptions, but this has been the general trend for most players. I always recommend buying the right size bat, not one they can "grow in to". A bat that is too big (or too small) is going to negatively affect performance. For kids just learning the game, adding challenges with improper equipment size is only going to slow down their development. My DD is 13. This was the first Christmas since she started playing that there wasn't a new bat under the tree. That said, there have been some years where there has also been a new bat during the middle of the year. My DD has never broken a bat (so far). It's all been keeping up with her growth.
